Since it's been a half year since it's been said -- You have ideas, we wanna hear them!
If you have requests or ideas for things you might want to see a scene of (such as how this one happened) feel free to leave us notes on things you're curious about, or wonder how they'd handle or anything from a time period to a word to a vogue passing fad, really, and Steph and I will throw darts at the idea (and very likely, possibly, each other >_>) and see what might just happen.
Aside from that, I hope everyone's enjoying theride read.

Housecalls.

Edward is coming with Carlisle on housecalls today, after only a minor amount of cajoling on Carlisle's part and some half-assed speech about how observations are a vital part of practical application of learning medical theory.
Or Carlisle just wanted to drive around with Edward again.
Regardless, they are pulling up to the ranch house that holds his first patient inside - a young mother, whose husband is in the city nearby during the week for work.

Carlisle is starting to see patients tomorrow morning.
Which means:
Edward, are you coming or what?
The both of them have places to be.

I was having fun answering other questions and realized my lines blurred a bit between my thoughts and how Edward would take on things. As I'm going to be on hiatus this weekend in New Orleans, I'm opening this with the chance to ask questions about anything revelatory you might find of interest to ask.
Feel free to go wild, anything from silly to seriously thought provoking. Anyone and everyone, even my cohorts! I'll answer a few a night as internet access permits.

It's still Minnesota but the feeling in the apartment has lightened in the last week.
Edward is even sitting at the upright in the corner, willingly, playing through a complex melody.

Edward just appears, leaning on the stage back leisurely. "Carlisle was amused by this."
There's a minute pause, with the flicker of a smirk. "I won't promise not to lie."

Carlisle steps onstage, wooden planks bowing slightly beneath his loafers and he straightens his tie as he sits in the lone chair.
"I don't promise to not obfuscate, but I won't lie. Any questions for me?"
[ooc: Feel free to ask whatever. If you have a timeline-specific question or something that needs to be answered from a narration standpoint, I'll try that too.]

What follows is not part of the LP storyline, but I thought people might enjoy here anyway. Feel free to comment if you want.

I imagine I am very politely driving Edward insane.
My eyes are still different; the minimal interaction I have had with others has been curtailed and stiff. I do a lot of writing and hunting now, and feel more...inhuman, than I have in some time.
Edward does what he can. I am grateful to him here, now, always. We are in Minnesota for no reason I can adequately discern - but it is somewhere different, Edward says, and I did promise him travel. He has a wandering soul sometimes. This may be good for him - I am unsure.
Regardless, I am here in the apartment we have rent by week and Edward is elsewhere.
I am bored.
- C.C.
Carlisle to all comers would appear asleep - sprawled across a low couch belly-down and eyes shut.

Carlisle has been trying not to hover.
It's been a month, and a month is absolutely a split second in time to Carlisle when he considers how much his long life has changed in that time. There is someone else here now - red eyes that do not regard him with utter disdain.
(Yet? Carlisle tries to stifle with a modicum of success.)
But he does worry if Edward is bored. Neither need to hunt, but there isn't too much in the cabin they are occupying.

It's the most suddenly they have left a particular place since moving back to America, and it aggravates Carlisle to his core.
(His surgery patient survived. It relieves Carlisle somewhat to get this news as he is packing his stethoscope and labcoat away.)
A benefit of never sleeping: they manage to pack rather quickly. A benefit of never really having much to spend a doctor's wages on: they have the house for several months, to allow them to send for their belongings that are safe to be rifled through at their leisure.
They have to leave, so they are on a night train.

I realized today, while perusing the main page of this lovely little place, I've never put a mod post shout. Thusly --
Hi! &hearts I'm Amanda, the sometimes voice of Edward and every other time just the fingers he's making do things that make me make far more engaging and hilarious faces than anyone save Steph gets. It's a pleasure to have you here. If you have any questions or comments or compliments or requests or nonverbal squeeing or meta or anything, feel free to leave them here.
Just so every thing's in the clear, as of the last thread we introduced the
timetoprove journal which you can expect to see npcs and extra and crazy inspirations from our minds coming out of for them.
Apparently I'm sharing, too!

Just a note from That Other One saying hi at everybody again, glad to know you're still with us. Thanks for all the commentary and good thoughts - seriously, it makes my early-morning drives to work so much better. I hope we continue to be amusing to you all. - Steph
Addendum: OH WE TOTALLY FORGOT
If you comment with an outtake or a scene you would like to see, the ideas will go into our hat and we shall pull them at our convenience for random hijinks. For ease of play, we'd prefer something that is timed to the story's present or past. Not even we know what's happening to them next, people.

Carlisle Cullen is not the only vampire who can control himself when there is a greater purpose to be served. He even waits patiently in the chairs of the hallway outside Dr. Franklin Connell's office, eyes cast to the ground and counting the grains of the grout between the tiles of the floor to remain as inconspicuous as possible.
He doesn't bother to hide his red eyes from Dr. Connell when the man returns to his office to find him waiting. The doctor ushers the visitor to come into the office, shut the door behind them both and tries not to visibly startle at the irises that make the visitor even more pale, ominous.
"Hello there, Dr. Connell," the visitor offers politely with a tiny hint of a smile. Might as well put the man at ease.
"I understand you have Edward Cullen as a student here."

It's been one day. Carlisle doesn't need to hunt, thank God - he is already barely keeping it together with the fact that he is missing work, Edward is missing class to stay with him, and Carlisle can't manage to do much of anything on his own.
Right now Edward is playing at his piano and Carlisle is...sitting.
Not doing much.
As is his new position.
Damnit.

Carlisle and Edward are walking to the hospital. The second semester is starting for Edward and Carlisle will be in surgery most of the day. A new procedure, and challenging - Carlisle has been attempting to minimize his near-obsessive concentration on it for at least a week.
With only minimal amounts of success.
"...and with any luck, I'll be closing by four."

[Author's NOte: Sometimes I'll do this. I forget my ideas a lot. Don't get too excited. Or yell at me. :) - Steph.]
One of the trickier lies Carlisle has to work on in his profession (when he is actually in the operating room, of course) is the nurse who is normally assigned to the care of the doctors. Doctors are human, on the whole. They sweat; they tremble. Carlisle is excellent at it after so long but he is still remarkably controlled in comparison to the other professionals in the room.
And he always closes after surgery. A perfectionist to the core, he closes because he started the job - he should finish it.
But today there's a problem. Carlisle places the saline solution to one side before he drops it, blinking two, three times.
Everything's gone...fuzzy.
